Thanksgiving Craft class fun stuff
Here are just a few pictures from the special Thanksgiving edition of Craft Kitchen. The kids did many projects such as: Leaf printed napkins, napkins rings with felt leaves, chocolate dipped marshmellows that looked like pilgrims hats, fun sock turkeys, and tri-bead Indian corn. They also got to enjoy some poems and stories about Thanksgiving, as well as, some Thanksgiving themed coloring pages. Above are shots with children doing the Indian corn, and coloring up some pilgrim fun.
Thanksgiving Craft Class projects
Here's our clan of turkeys. The kids had a great time creating these. The ones above are the creation of myself and my daughters. We were very busy helping all of the kids during our Thanksgiving craft class to take pictures on the fly.
The Indian corn was also a huge hit with the kids. They were easy and super fun to make. I couldn't help but to make more and more and more. They looked lovely around the Thanksgiving table, which my daughter assembled.

After School Fall '09 Silk screen treat bags
Photos courtesy of Megan Simmons
For Halloween we silk screened treat bags with the kids. Above are highlights of the screening process.
After School Fall '09 Linoprints
We thought it would be a interesting idea to try linoprints with young children. The kids drew their design into styrofoam, and created a framed piece of art and stationary.
After School Fall '09 Door Hangers
This was a fun project that we did with the children. They each got to make door hangers that had a special message on each side. We wanted to highlight our "Star".
After School Fall '09 Gift tags & Mobiles
Summer '09 Basic Skirt
Young fashion designers modeling their unique skirts. They each got to pick fabric and sew their skirt on a sewing machine. The children also had to thread the elastic through for the waistline (not an easy task).
Summer '09 Silk-Screen t-shirts
This is our silk-screening project. Each child created a design for their t-shirt, and I cut out the stencil. Above you see one of the students screening her design onto her t-shirt.
Summer '09 Craft Badges
At the end of our first craft camp, all of the children made their own craft badge for completing the week of fun crafting.
Summer '09 Stuffie Project
Here, one of our students is sewing together her own designed stuffie. Some of our students helped guide the fabric on the sewing machine, while others chose to just use the foot pedal.
Summer '09 Caperon craft
This is our project that we like to call the "caperon". It is a reversible apron on one side that you see above with most of the children. The otherside is the cape. The children picked fabric, cut, and sewed their caperons together. Each child then assembled their caperon with our guidance on a sewing machine.
Summer09 Appliqued t-shirts
This is from our first class in the summer. The girls are ages 5-6 years old. They each got to pick out a design, trace and cut the pattern out from the fabric. We appliqued the designs on the the t-shirts.
